In most cases, no. Most of the functionality of Shieldox takes place directly on your computer. Shieldox doesn’t send your files or their contents to its servers. But we do keep the encryption keys on our servers as part of our commitment to the security of your data.
In some special cases we will temporarily transfer your files to our servers. This happens when someone views a protected file on a device that doesn’t have the Shieldox client installed. We do this to allow Shieldox users to view files on any device. We don’t have access to the file or its contents. It remains protected and encrypted at all times, and we don’t keep a copy on our servers.
