Yes. But the recipient will not be able to access Shieldox’ full functionality on that document.
To work with a protected document in Office, you must use a computer that has the Shieldox client installed.
A member of the document can view the document using the secure online Shieldox viewer app but will not be able to edit it, even if its protection rules would otherwise allow it.
To view a protected document, first open it in the Office application that was used to create it. If the Shieldox client isn’t installed on that computer, the document will be presented as a locked document and you won’t be able to view its contents even if you have permission.
To view a document in this case, click the View Online link at the bottom of the locked document screen to open the viewer app in your default browser. You will be asked to log in using one of Shieldox’ supported login methods. After your login has been approved, the document will be opened in a preview app which does not allow the user to download or modify the document in any way.
To edit, print, download or alter a Shieldox-protected document, you must open it on a computer with the Shieldox client installed.
IMPORTANT: Shieldox cannot monitor activity that takes place in the Shieldox viewer app. The recipient can print the web page as a graphic, or take a screenshot of the browser window, and Shieldox cannot prevent or track these actions. To avoid data leaks caused by untrusted recipients, you can disable any member’s permission to use the viewer app in the Manage menu in the Members policy window. In the Manage menu, simply disable the View Online permission.
