Once you’re a Shieldox user, protecting documents is incredibly easy. Any document you save in a supported Office program (Word, Excel or Power Point), on a computer with the Shieldox client installed, will automatically be protected with GREEN protection. The document will be tracked but not encrypted.
To change the protection level of a document, open the file in the Office app it was created in. Click the PROTECT button in the Shieldox color bar. You’ll see a window allowing you to select one of the three protection levels in Shieldox.
If AMBER or RED are selected, you can navigate to the Members screen. Here, you can add members or additional owners to the document and control their access levels, deciding who can print, view, edit, and more.
Members can also be automatically added to the document, by emailing the document with Outlook on any computer with the Shieldox client installed.
